DAB DOOR COMPANY (DBA Hurricane Master) PRODUCT LIMITED WARRANTY

DAB Door Company (“DAB”) warrants to the original purchaser and current record owner at the property at the time of installation (the “Owner”) where the door was originally installed, that the garage door sections covered under this Limited Warranty will be free from defects in material or workmanship that result in cracking, peeling, delamination, flaking, corrosion-through (perforation of steel), or excessive discoloration, provided the door is used under normal conditions, maintained annually, and installed in accordance with manufacturer instructions. If a covered defect exists, DAB will, at its option, repair, restore, or replace the defective door section.

This Limited Warranty is non-transferable and applies only to Owner and the specific property address at which the product was originally installed.

This Limited Warranty is personal to the Owner and will automatically terminate upon any sale, conveyance, or transfer of ownership of the property to any third party. No subsequent owner, occupant, or transferee will be considered an “Owner” for purposes of this Limited Warranty or have any rights or claims under it, whether as a third-party beneficiary or otherwise.

1. Coverage – Door Sections

DAB warrants door sections against deterioration due to rust-through (metal perforation) for the duration of this Limited Warranty, so long as the Owner performs reasonable annual maintenance.
“Reasonable annual maintenance” means cleaning exterior surfaces, removing contaminants, visually inspecting all panels and hardware, and lubricating moving components at least once every twelve (12) months in accordance with DAB’s written maintenance instructions.

2. Eligibility Conditions

This Limited Warranty applies only if:
The door is installed by a qualified installer in accordance with DAB’s instructions;
The door remains at the original installation address and the Owner remains the record owner of the property. Any sale, conveyance, or transfer of the property will automatically terminate this Limited Warranty, and no subsequent owner, occupant, or transferee will have any rights, remedies, or claims under this Limited Warranty;
Any installation-related permits required by law have received final inspection approval. If the Owner cannot produce documentation of final approval, DAB may require additional verification of proper installation. Lack of permit documentation does not, by itself, void this Limited Warranty; and Unauthorized structural modifications or repairs by non-qualified persons during the Limited Warranty period may void coverage.

3. Registration Requirement

For full coverage, the Owner must register this warranty at www.dabdoor.com within thirty (30) days of installation. Failure to register within thirty (30) days does not void this Limited Warranty; however, all coverage will automatically be limited to one (1) year from the installation date.
The Owner must retain all the documents provided by a DAB approved or otherwise qualified installer at the time of installation, such as the warranty form, maintenance and cleaning instructions, proof of payment, and a copy of the order or invoice, as applicable.

4. Warranty Periods

Unless otherwise stated:
Door Sections / Delamination / Track System / Windows (material only): 3 years
Hardware, Window frames (if door equipped with windows), Insulation (if door equipped with windows) & Springs: 1 year
Garage Door Openers: Covered solely by the opener manufacturer
Commercial / Industrial Use: Entire warranty limited to 1 year

5. Coastal Installations

For installations within five (5) miles (radius) of a salt-water shoreline, all coverage relating to steel components is limited to one (1) year due to increased corrosion exposure.

6. Hardware Limited Warranty

For one (1) year from installation, springs and rollers are warranted against defects in material or workmanship. DAB will replace defective springs or rollers upon verification.
Labor and shipping costs are the responsibility of the Owner.

7. Exclusions — What Is Not Covered

This Limited Warranty does not cover:
Surface rust from damage, scratches, failure to perform annual maintenance, or improper cleaning (including corrosive or industrial cleaners).
Damage from corrosive environments, such as coastal salt air, industrial chemicals, cement dust, corrosive runoff, or fumes.
Accidents, misuse, abuse, vandalism, or operation contrary to manufacturer instructions.
Improper installation or unqualified trade practices.
Acts of God exceeding product design limits (e.g., hurricane-force winds, tornadoes).
Impact damage, hail, or other causes beyond DAB’s control.
Doors installed within the coastal zone described above (steel components limited to one year).
Repainting performed without following required surface preparation and paint system instructions.
DAB does not warrant installation workmanship provided by third-party installers.
Crazing or slight cracking as may occur on tightly roll formed edges or brake bends at the time of forming pre-printed sheet steel.
In addition, this Limited Warranty does not cover: (a) normal wear and tear; (b) cosmetic imperfections that do not materially impair the function of the product; or (c) damage or failure resulting from Owner’s failure to follow DAB’s written maintenance, operation, or cleaning instructions.
The Owner is solely responsible for all labor, including installation, costs under this Limited Warranty.
The Owner is solely responsible for all shipping, freight, delivery, customs, insurance, and handling charges associated with the return, repair, or replacement of any materials or equipment covered under this Limited Warranty.
Additionally, if a door panel is deemed defective and DAB determines it must be replaced pursuant to this Limited Warranty, and the panel is equipped with any windows and/or insulation, the Owner is also responsible for paying the cost, as customarily charged by DAB at the time of replacement, of the new windows and/or insulation materials because those are integral parts of the panel and they are not reusable if a door panel is replaced.

8. Limitation of Liability

DAB MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
DAB SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING DAMAGE TO STRUCTURES, PROPERTY, OR ANY COSTS RELATING TO LABOR, REMOVAL, REINSTALLATION, SHIPPING, PAINT, OR LOST USE.

9. Notice of Claim

The Owner must notify DAB of any potential defect within a reasonable time after discovery. Notice should include the installation date, installer information, description of the issue, the original invoice, and any required permit documentation. Failure to provide documentation may delay claim processing but does not automatically void coverage unless DAB is prejudiced.
DAB must be permitted reasonable access for inspection. If defect is confirmed, DAB will repair or replace the affected component at its option.

10. Activation of Warranty

To activate full warranty coverage, warranty registration and a copy of the original invoice must be received by DAB within thirty (30) days. If registration and the original invoice are not received within such thirty (30)-day period, all coverage under this Limited Warranty will be automatically limited to one (1) year from the installation date.

11. Entire Warranty

This Limited Warranty is the entire warranty provided by DAB. It cannot be modified or altered except in a signed writing by DAB. No dealer, installer, or third party may modify or extend this Limited Warranty.

12. Dispute Resolution

If any dispute arises under or relating to this Limited Warranty, the Owner and DAB agree to participate in non-binding mediation within 60 days of either party notifying the other in writing of any dispute. The parties will jointly select a mediator. If they cannot agree, they agree to request one be appointed by Salmon & Dulberg Dispute Resolution. https://sd-adr.com/
If the parties are unable to reach a final resolution at mediation, all disputes shall be submitted to and resolved by binding arbitration administered by JAMS in Miami, Florida. https://www.jamsadr.com/miami. There will be one arbitrator. The arbitration award will be final and binding. Florida law will govern this Limited Warranty and all disputes arising from or relating to it.
